Shore Club invasion was `organised intimidation' - Local News - News - The Manly Daily: "AT least 20 men allegedly forced their way into the Shore Club in Manly on Sunday night, damaging property and assaulting the owner after being refused entry.
It is believed the group was led by a former rugby league security guard and boxing promoter who is also believed to have controlled security at several venues at Kings Cross at one time.
On Sunday night a group of about 20 men allegedly forced their way into the beachfront venue at about 8.45pm, damaged property and assaulted club owner Alex Said, who was not seriously injured.
Manly local area commander Supt Dave Darcy said the invasion of the club by so many men was an act of “organised intimidation”.
