SC Outlaws leader sentenced in Va. to 9 years

SC Outlaws leader sentenced in Va. to 9 years | The Associated Press | Nation | Washington Examiner: "A former regional boss of the Outlaws motorcycle gang who led attempts to hunt down rival Hell's Angels with the intent of assaulting them was sentenced Friday to nine years and two months in federal prison.

U.S. District Judge Henry E. Hudson rejected Leslie Werth's plea for a lighter sentence Friday, saying the Outlaws became a more dangerous organization because of Werth's actions.

'You weren't just someone who sat there and listened,' Hudson told Werth. 'You exhorted people to commit violence.'

A jury in November convicted Werth, a member of the Rock Hill, S.C., Outlaws chapter, of conspiracy to commit racketeering and conspiracy to commit violence in aid of racketeering.

Prosecutors asked Hudson to sentence Werth to 10 years and one month, the maximum under sentencing guidelines computed by the federal probation office. Werth's attorney asked for no more than five years.

Werth was among 27 gang members indicted in June 2010 on racketeering and other charges. More than half pleaded guilty. Five, including Werth and Outlaws national president Jack Rosga of Milwaukee, were convicted and three were acquitted in two separate jury trials. One was shot to death by federal agents trying to arrest him in Maine. Rosga and three others will be sentenced April 8."

Pooler was a model of civility in a University Ave. courtroom, dressed in a pinstriped charcoal business jacket, with his long grey hair pulled back in a tight ponytail.

On the witness stand, also dressed like a businessman, was David Atwell, former sergeant-at-arms of the downtown Toronto Hells Angels, who left the club to become a paid police agent. He is the Crown’s star witness and was testifying Friday against Pooler who is facing charges including criminal conspiracy.

Also facing criminal conspiracy charges are John Neal, 60, president of the downtown Toronto Hells Angels, vice-presidents Pooler, 60, and Douglas Myles, 54, and members Mehrdad (Mark) Bahman, 49, and Lorne Campbell, 62."

City of Vancouver gave the Hells Angels $2 million

Gangsters Out Blog: City of Vancouver gave the Hells Angels $2 million: "I'm all for social housing. At fist glance the City of Vancouver buying the Drake hotel and turning it into social housing is a wonderful idea. But wait a minute. They bought it from the Hells Angels and they paid more than twice what it's worth. So once again money allotted for the poor in East Van goes straight into organized crime's pocket.

There are two separate issues on the table. The City bought an old hotel to turn into social housing, that is a good thing. Them buying it from a criminal organization is not a good thing. Neither is paying that criminal organization more than twice it's worth. From the outside it looks like the City just paid the Hells Angels a $2 million bribe.

That's $2 million of taxpayers money. That's $2 million of tax money earmarked for social housing that just went up in smoke. Corruption or a mistake? Your guess is as good as mine. Regardless of it being a mistake, that is a huge amount of money. Which brings us back to the proceeds of crime."

Murcia and Valencia Regions Hells Angels.

A Torrevieja judge is prosecuting 16 of the club’s members for a list of crimes including: homicide, attempted homicide, illegal possession of weapons, armed robbery, threatening behaviour, kidnapping, illegal association, among others.

In the police operation dubbed ‘Europa’ two men were arrested last year for suspected of killing Torrevieja notary public Juan José Martínez Román in October 2009.

The arrests also led to police solving two robberies and reportedly removing the upper layer of ‘management’

Magistrate Isabel Flor has ruled out a people’s jury at the hearing because the motive behind the killing was robbery not murder.

The judge has established a link with an attempted homicide which took place in September 2009 at a villa in Pedralba (Valencia), and a second failed murder attempt at Pub Canadian in San Pedro del Pinatar in Murcia a few weeks later.

In the first case there is evidence to suggest two brothers hire a contract killer to kill their father in order to receive his inheritance. However, the weapon failed to function.

In the second case, the owner of the pub was left critically injured after being shot.

In fear for his life, he reportedly told Guardia Civil the perpetrators had been two Moroccans, after receiving threats.

The man suspected to have shot the Torrevieja notary is also thought to have participated in both these attacks while skipping parole in Leon.

Judge Flor suspects the objective of all these crimes were to finance the activities of the Hells Angels, where members have set functions and a hierarchy exists.

Meanwhile, in January police arrested four members of Hells Angels from the Alfafar (Valencia) chapter, including the club president, accused of extortion and illegal association.

Investigators believe the bikers forced from another motorcycle club in Castellon, Big Twin Spain, to pay more than €10,000 for ‘protection’ during their annual Harley Davidson rallies.DISCLAIMER:Text may be subject to copyright. This blog does not claim copyright to any such text. Law has tattooists marked for strife ,tattoo industry has accused the State Government of singling it out to serve its war against bikies.

Law has tattooists marked for strife | Adelaide Now: "tattoo industry has accused the State Government of singling it out to serve its war against bikies.

The Professional Tattooing Association of Australia says changes to legislation proposed by Attorney-General John Rau will be harmful to consumers by providing police 'special powers' that they say appear to target the industry for its supposed links to bikies.

The proposed changes require traders to keep proof of age records and hand them over to police on request.

Other changes include increasing the penalty for tattooing a minor to $5000 or one year's jail and bans any body modification being performed on a drunk person.

Association and piercing industry spokeswoman Morag Draper said while some components of the legislation were welcomed, others were seen as a step back in good business practice, moral responsibility to clients and the protection of their personal information.

'He can't be doing this for Health Department reasons or even consumer advice,' she said."

Bikies jailed for contempt

Blood Money: Bikies, Terrorists and Middle Eastern Gangs Bikies jailed for contempt: "Four Perth bikies are jailed for two years for refusing to answer questions to the CCC."Finks members Tristan Allbeury, Stephen Silvestro, Troy Crispin Smith and Clovis Chikonga had appeared before the Corruption and Crime Commission (CCC) last year in relation to a brawl between them and rival gang the Coffin Cheaters.
The brawl had broken out at the Perth Motorplex on October 3 and left Silvestro and Smith with injuries.
All four men had kept quiet during the CCC hearing and were subsequently charged with contempt for refusing to be sworn in to give evidence and insulting corruption commissioner Len Roberts-Smith.
The lawyer for the four bikies said they refused to provide evidence to the CCC because they feared retribution should they co-operate.
On Friday, Chief Justice Wayne Martin noted that the "persistent defiance" of the men to assist the commission in its investigation into organised crime was extremely serious.
Chikonga, 24, Silvestro, 42, and Smith, 37, were all given two-year sentences for refusing to answer questions or be sworn in to give evidence.
Allbeury, 29 and a new father, was sentenced to two years and three months for not only refusing to give evidence but insulting Commissioner Roberts-Smith during the hearings.
As the sentence was handed down, Allbeury angrily told Chief Justice Martin: "You can f***, you're a f*****g spastic, you live in a dream world. You live in a fairy world. You don't have any idea about the streets".
As he was ordered out of the courts he threatened to "knock out" a security guard.
Due to the seriousness of the offence, Justice Martin said it was appropriate for a penalty to be imposed in order to deter future contempts of court.
There would also be no eligibility for parole for the four men.

Bikies link to murders

Bikies link to murders | The Daily Telegraph: "POLICE have reopened the cold-case files of two women who went missing in the early 1990s. Investigators are now certain the women were murdered in a double homicide.

The State Government will today announce a $100,000 reward for information leading to an arrest over the disappearance of close friends Karen Gilbody, 29, and Valerie Hall, 41, in southwest Sydney.

Ms Gilbody was last seen by her boyfriend on July 2, 1991 -- one day shy of her 30th birthday -- at the home they shared in Avoca St, Yagoona.

A day later, Ms Hall, 41, intended to travel to the same address from her Belmore home, although police do not know whether she arrived.

Both women were reported missing by family members later that month and neither has been heard from since.

Investigators have been told the women had links to a group known as the Highway 61 Motorcycle Club, which was active in the area at the time of their disappearance."

MISS HELLS ANGEL Girls move up in gang world | gang, girls, high

Drive-bys, drug sales, stealing cars, tagging and murder. What was once a mainly male-dominated area of the gang world has been opening up to more and more women and girls.

Nearly 30 percent of girls in high-risk and high-crime neighborhoods claimed gang membership, according to a 2008 report from the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention — the most recent report available.

While membership appears to have increased, FBI officials note that female-only gangs are still rare, but the roles of women and girls in male gangs have increased.

“Drugs, sex, shootings, taggings, crime — they do it all,” said Rosie, who spent most of her life in an East Los Angeles gang along side her late husband. Her name has been changed to protect her and her family.

“The number of violent crimes committed by females under the age of 22 in the United States has risen 300 percent in the past 10 years,” said Dawn L. Brown, executive director of Gangs and Girls, a non-profit organization focused on helping girls stay out of gang life."

The telecommunications black hole exploited by the Comancheros gang and drug cartels has come to light after several nations - anxious about terrorism and national security - threatened to ban the Canadian-designed BlackBerry phones unless they were given the codes to break the encryption on emails and instant messages.

The Comancheros are understood to have linked up with a Mexican drug cartel importing cocaine into Australia and are sharing the technology."

in recent American criminal history, has been captured in Argentina, the U.S. Marshals Service announced today.
Paul Merle Eischeid, one of the U.S. Marshals 15 Most Wanted Fugitives, was captured today in Buenos Aires by Argentinean authorities.

Eischeid is suspected in the 2001 kidnapping and murder of Cynthia Garcia.

According to authorities, Garcia was attacked while at a party at the Hell's Angels' clubhouse in Mesa. She was beaten, thrown in the trunk of a car, and taken to the desert, where she was stabbed and left for dead.

"Eischeid's crimes were horrendous and his potential for continued violence made his arrest a priority for the U.S. Marshals," Stacia A. Hylton, director of the U.S. Marshal Service says in a statement. "His capture is both significant and rewarding, and we thank our domestic and international partners for their tireless persistence in bringing this fugitive to justice."

The mother of a notorious Perth bikie has spoken in support of her son's partner who is awaiting sentencing for stealing trust funds from the children of two dead bikies.

Tammy Cherie Kingdon, partner of Finks member Troy Mercanti, was due to be sentenced in the Perth District Court on Monday after she was found guilty on four counts of stealing and one count of property laundering.

However, Judge Henry Wisbey had Kingdon's sentencing postponed until Wednesday so he could consider submissions by prosecutor Carmel Barbagallo and defence lawyer Stephen Shirrefs.

Kingdon, 34, was to have been sentenced on two previous occasions but for various reasons the matter was adjourned.

As the sole carer of her two sons with Mercanti, who has been in prison since December 2008, Kingdon has been on bail.
